Zootown Arts

Hanna Hannan
615 Brooks St.
Missoula, MT 59801
406-549-7555

zootownarts.blogspot.com
Email: zootownarts@yahoo.com

Zootown Arts is an alternative community art program for children/teenagers in Missoula. Recently, Zootown Arts has taken an interest in family workshops and collaboration with the plethora of alternative educational organizations in the valley. Zootown's main focus is the after school enrichment program where kids explore different media, meet Missoula artists, and create artworks together that are meaningful in their lives.
Zootown strives to present guest artists in the schools through grants, donations, and artist volunteers. We explore styles of painting, sculpture, ceramics, drawing, and mixed media work. The blend of art with science, history, and culture is an important goal of the program. Zootown encourages artistic problem-solving skills in a student based learning atmosphere with a low ratio of student to teacher remaining less than 10- 1. Zootown Arts would like to transition the after school programming into a non-profit.
We are also seeking a good place to call home where we could offer the Missoula community and youth a space to showcase and create art as families and as friends while working with artists from the community.
The hope is to employ artists in the valley and make community alternative art and art making more readily available. The hope is to synthesize music, dance, and visual art with a community garden space to explore in the near future.
