Missoula Arts & Humanities Coalition

Organized primarily as an advocacy group for the arts and humanities community in Missoula, the Coalition has expanded its range of activities to include a variety of outreach programs. The Missoula Cultural Council coordinates and provides funding for the activities of this informal organization.

The Missoula Arts & Humanities Coalition is a non-dues, informal support organization that meets regularly and uses print and electronic publications to share information on matters of mutual interest. Originally created as an arts advocacy group, the Coalition continues to support arts education in schools and arts access for all segments of the greater Missoula community.

Through regularly scheduled meetings plus printed and email newsletters, MCC provides a broad spectrum of information to organizations and individuals in both the cultural and commercial sectors on such topics as:

  • Broadening arts experiences for all in the community
  • Providing information on funding resources and technical assistance to local nonprofit and individuals
  • Measuring the economic impact of cultural activities in the Missoula region
  • Partnerships in developing cultural tourism
  • Encouraging public art in locations throughout the community
